Create a beautiful piece of wall art for your home. Join Wendy on a creative journey culminating in a fabulous piece of felt art for your wall. You will use merino wool tops, a variety of fibres and fabrics and learn lots of different textural techniques in your creation. Use a template to create 3D sculptural forms in this wonder filled workshop. Learn sculptural techniques to make pods, bowls, formed and sculptural shapes. Learn how to make really hard felt that will hold its shape. Felting onto fabric opens up all sorts of wonderful opportunities for making your own designer fabrics. Join Wendy on a voyage of nuno felt discovery making a large wrap or hanging using silk fabric as a base. A texture feast for explorations of surface. And for those who like functon as well as form, you can make this beautiful piece in one day, use it as a wrap or a curtain, or if you are versatile, both. An added bonus is that Kelly Goodwin will demonstrate how the addition of dye onto your felt reveals variation in the surface which results from varied fibre dye takeup. Samples of this will be available for you to view on the day, you can decide if you'd like to dye your work later at home, or keep it white on white.
