Lynne Johnson loves knitting with beautiful yarns -many of the different silk yarns are among her favourites. She enjoys using them together in her pieces and she enjoys mixing them with equally beautiful wools, mohairs, alpacas and other such luxury yarns. Lynne has developed new techniques based on traditional knitting ideas to create excitingly colourful textured and interesting fabrics to use in wearable items and fashion accessories. Lynne tells me .............I am planning to use strips of silk fabric to knit in with the yarns ........... have a few samples but any fabric and yarn off cuts -coloured dyed or plain - you have would be fun to experiment with too.

Requirements:

  • The ability to cast on, cast off, knit plain and purl rows.
  • Knitting needles. Any or all of the following: 3.75mm, 4.00mm or 4.5mm. Circular or straight.
  • Your favourite 'toolbox' containing wool needle, scissors or clippers and tape measure. Don't buy these especially - we'll share.
  • Some yarns if you wish. You will be provided with enough yarn for small projects each session but you might like to bring any left over yarns to augment those provided. We will be using mainly 8 and 12 ply yarns and some 4,5,6,14s etc. They can be wools, mohairs, silks, cottons, occasionally synthetics, finger ply, crepes, boucles, ribbons, combinations etc.

Total cost includes refreshments but not lunch (bring your own) $180.00.
