Why do a workshop?
Words of Wisdom from Marion Gorr, Managing Partner, Beautiful Silks
If you have a passion, you don't have the luxury of leaving the job, you have to make it work for you.
Confidence only comes with a bit of experience. A workshop situation that is supportive and encourages risk and experimentation is the best way to set the basis for ongoing growth and courage.
My mother, pictured here, is Eileen Hutchins from Hastings New Zealand. I watched my mother work at custom making dyeing and designing for many years. I often thought she could have had an easier life if she had instilled a few boundaries and systems. So I have had to do that in my life, and see it works, if I can help others, by my experience, I will. Here's a picture of Mother - at 86, she has just retired from dressmaking, and is happy just gardening and pottering around home. Success is not always how much you earn but what you are doing.
PS MUM says, I still know best!
