Look what we've made for you! Amazing saris, some hand-loomed. Hand-embellished pieces, knitted pieces of recycled waste silk for jazzing up old garments, embroidered pieces, beaded pieces, all made as part of the Beautiful Silks commitment to doing its bit to end third world poverty by rraining and employing women from the south Indian rural district of Mandya, Karnataka State.

When we say we wrote the Standard on Fair Trade for Indian self-help groups, we actually did. Download it here! We also wrote many of their business plans, and we conduct regular on-line business classes for them. Make an appointment to drop in and see one in the Fitzroy warehouse 7.30 pm any Tuesday night.
Instructional DVDs of the techniques used in the Indian workshops also available-click here.
