If you're interested in trading your textlie experiences, new techniques or methods, or getting questions answered, finding where to get a rare piece of fabric, or a rare service, here's where you post your notice.
Our "frequently asked questions" section will have just that... send us your questions, we'll either post an answer or ask our readership to suggest one.
Sarah of Adelaide asks: How do you crinkle Silk?
Marion, the all-knowing supreme wise bird of Beautiful Silks answers:
Firstly, go down on your hands and knees in the pots cupboard in your kitchen and find that pressure cooker your granny gave you as a housewarming present. Then, wet and scrunch up your silk. then, cook it for 20 minutes in the pressure cooker on medium heat. Remember to take the pot off the stove aver 20 minutes. Allow to cool and walla! it's done. You can put up to 10 metres of silk safely in one pot-load. |
We want photos of your favourite work and the stories behind them; textile tours; events past and future; new contacts and new groups. Email us for inclusion here.
Anne Young was thrilled to be on the 2007 Beautiful Silks tour of China. Of her hundreds of great photos I've included only three. There's a PowerPoint presentation of her photos which will take about 10 minutes to download - click here
